EVANS CHAMBER COMPLETES 2020 MEMBER AWARDS

EVANS CHAMBER COMPLETES 2020 MEMBER AWARDS

The Evans Area Chamber of Commerce had to cancel the 2020 Annual Awards Dinner last year so members who would have received awards for their contributions to the chamber and the community weren’t able to receive them. The Chamber has handed out the awards to those members over the last four months. In case you missed any here’s a review:

In February, Greeley/Weld Airport Manager, Cooper Anderson, was given the Rising Star Award for continuing the excellent work begun by his predecessor, Gary Cyr. The airport is to thriving and expanding under his leadership and we expect great things in the future. Congratulations, Cooper!

In March, Lit’l Bit Bar and Grill owner, Barb Solivais, and manager, Mark Stone, received the prestigious Jack Meakins Community Service Award for their contribution to the Success Foundation which paid off the lunch debt of all Evans middle schoolers, avoiding the debt following them into high school. This had never been done before and Stone and Solivais challenged other Evans’ businesses to step up and help.

On April 7th Envision, “Creative Support for People with Developmental Disabilities”, received our Non-Profit Partner of the Year Award for their incredible and tireless work with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They enhance the life of so many of our neighbors in the community. The Chamber is proud to support their mission.

On Monday, May 10th, the Chamber hosted a reception at our office to honor the final two members to receive awards this year. Ray Lordemann was awarded Ambassador of the Year for 2020 and Ron Bland was given Board Member of the Year in 2020. Ray and Ron have been a huge part of chamber activities for many years, Ray by introducing many new people to the chamber and Ron for running our Annual Clay Shoot Extravaganza for the last six years. They’re both integral to the chamber and we couldn’t do it without them.
